Storyline

A dark and violent comedy about two brothers who uncover their dark past when searching for hidden loot.

After doing fifteen years for a bank heist, Anker vows to get his stolen money back. His mentally unstable brother Manfred knows where the loot is hidden – if only he could remember. When the brothers travel to their childhood home, trouble and violence awaits.

Anders Thomas Jensen (Adam’s Apples, Riders of Justice) is back with his usual troupe of A-list Danish actors and another weird and wickedly violent comedy. The absurdity of the story is offset by the believable bond between the brothers, who overcome their fifteen-year separation during their road trip. Flashbacks to Anker and Manfred’s youth steer the film into darker emotional territory, counterbalancing the jokes and the mayhem. The actors, led by a bespectacled Mads Mikkelsen in a very silly wig, happily embrace the grotesque chaos, adding a much-needed touch of humanity.
